The petrol is as a liquid form, basically, it is known as a mineral oil, some time has a dark colour, some time has totally black colour and much less dense than the water, the smell is very different, as a pungent. The petrol is available only in some particular rocks, as sedimentary rocks. The petrol it is formed by different elements of sulfur, oxygen, and nitrogen in different quantities with the mixing of hydrocarbons. From this mineral oil, we can get, at different temperatures a variation of products from the crude petrol. In the category of gaseous elements: butane, propane, ethane, and methane. In the category of liquids, we can get kerosene, fuel oil and gasoline. And with the process on different temperatures, some solids, as tars and paraffin. It is very common that the petrol fields are normally very far away from the places of consumption.

The transport of the petrol it is done with the help of the oil pipelines which goes from the well directly to the refinery or sometimes to the nearest shipping port. The transport by the sea it is with very special ships named tankers.
